In The Company of Women

You are cordially invited to In The Company of Women, a retreat for members of American Women Artists taking place October 1–4, 2025, in the heart of Virginia horse country: Middleburg, VA. We will come together to inspire, celebrate, and encourage women in the visual arts. We’ve curated an unforgettable experience during these four days! Here are some of the highlights:

• A private, curator-led tour of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., focusing on the legacy of women artists—those who came before us and those shaping the future (members only and registration required).
• The opening reception for the exhibition A Vision of Nature: American Women Artists at the National Sporting Library & Museum, our ninth annual juried museum exhibition for AWA members  (members only, registration required).
• An exclusive private tour of Oak Spring Garden, the stunning former home and gardens of Bunny Mellon  (members only,registration required).
• A Plein Air Paint-Out on the grounds of Trinity Episcopal Church (open to the public, registration required).
• The Symposium on Women in the Arts features a keynote address by Gladys Roldan-de-Moras (open to the public, registration required).
• A Members’ Breakfast and demos at a historic private barn in Virginia’s rolling hills  (members only, registration required).
• A Master Signature Lunch at the exquisite Boxwood Winery, offering the perfect setting to welcome our newest Master Signature Members  (Master Signature Members and Current and Past Board of Directors only, registration required).
