Entries for the 2024 Annual Online Juried Show open February 26
Entries for the 2024 Annual Online Juried Show will be open February 26-April 8, 2024. The show is open to all AWA members and includes over 20 cash awards plus donated merchandise. The prospectus is now available at ShowSubmit.

AWA Webinar Series Begins with Trisha Adams
Tuesday February 13 @ Noon Central Time
Join us for a presentation by AWA Associate member Trisha Adams entitled "How I Make a Living as an Artist." Trisha began painting at age 44 and has found great success using multiple streams of revenue including sales and conducting workshops. She shares what she has learned including working with galleries, marketing strategies such as social media, interviews, and podcasts, and gives tangible tips for using online commerce. Join us for a presentation by AWA Immediate Past President and Master Signature member Christine Drewyerentitled "Developing Gallery/Artist Relationships." Christine will share her deep expertise in the gallery experience. She co-founded and owned Main St. Gallery from 1996 to 2007. Just prior to that the gallery had been a Co-Operative Gallery called Annapolitans, of which she was on the Board of Directors. Christine has had consecutive gallery representation for 40 years and is currently represented by three galleries in three states, which represents some emerging as well as nationally acclaimed artists. An avid believer in the gallery model, she has a vast knowledge of art sales and shares her tips on making that a successful experience for both the artist and the gallery.

AWA is thrilled to present works by 31 Master Signature artists at the Tubac Center of the Arts in Arizona opening March 1, 2024 and running through April 14, 2024. You can now preview the pieces online. All pieces are available for purchase.
Awards selected by juror Christine Brindza will be announced at the opening Friday, March 1.
We are pleased to announce that Christine C. Brindza will serve as Awards Juror for the Master Signature exhibition in Tubac, AZ.
Christine serves as Senior Curator and James and Louise Glasser Curator of Art of the American West at the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block (TMA) in Tucson, Arizona. She has produced large exhibitions such as More Than: Expanding Artist Identities from the American West and The Western Sublime: Majestic Landscapes of the American West, as well asexhibitions that focus on cultural and regional relevance such as A Look Back: Works from the Women Artists and the West Show and Sale at the Tucson Museum of Art. Her practice often incorporates community collaborative strategies for which she has authored articles and publications. Christine has a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts degrees from Duquesne University and is a PhD Candidate at the University of Arizona in Art History and Education.

On the blog, Jann shares the story of Anne Goldthwaite, a rare Southern woman artist who lived on a world stage experiencing the birth of Modernism in Paris in the early 20th century, teaching art in New York City, and becoming a suffrage and arts advocate, while remaining allegiant to her Southern heritage.

Gladys Roldán-de-Moras Inducted into Cowgirl Hallof Fame!

Congratulations are in order for one of the newest inductees into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame! Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Gladys Roldán-de- Moras is known for her paintings that spotlight Spanish and Latino culture. Her talent has landed her work in many private and public permanent collections, such as the Briscoe Western Art Museum, the University of Texas in San Antonio, the Desert Caballeros WesternMuseum, and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Her artwork has been cited in several publications, such as Southwest Art Magazine, Western Art Collector, and Western Art and Architecture. Roldán- de-Moras has won many awards, including the prestigious Frederic Remington Painting Award at the 2023 Prix de West Invitational Art Sale & Exhibition at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. Gladys has been a great supporter of AWA including serving as a Board member. Congratulations!
