AWA's next call for entries opens August 22, 2025!  The AWA 2026 museum exhibition will be at the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center in Clarksville, TN.

The Annual Symposium on Women in the Arts, on October 3, 2025, Lunch Discussion on Success will be led by Kristin Meek of WYLD Leadership.  

After consulting businesses and K-12 institutions for over a decade, Kristin became disenchanted with the artificiality and standardized tone she often saw in leadership development training. She sought to disrupt and optimize the way learning environments are designed. In 2013, Kristin founded WYLD with the belief that adults and children alike, grow most when learning is rooted in nature, appreciative inquiry and embodied experiences.

Having facilitated 300+ teams, coached 5000+ individuals - 1000+ executives - Kristin has an artistry and actionable wisdom that enhances the measurable and immeasurable drivers of workplace performance and holistic well-being.

Did You Know?

In 2017, AWA launched 25 in 25, a bold initiative to secure 25 museum exhibitions for our women artist members over 25 years.

When 25 in 25 began, less than 5% of artworks in U.S. museum collections were created by women—a stark reminder of the long history of limited access to training, exhibition space, and institutional support for women in the arts. American Women Artists set out to change that. Today, thanks to the efforts of artists, advocates, and institutions like this one, that number has begun to rise. By 2025, 13% of works in U.S. art museums are by women, a sign of real progress—though much work remains. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more updated research being released soon!
